Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour. People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply

Job description:

Our client is a precision CNC machine shop specializing in low-volume, high-precision components for aerospace, medical, and entertainment industries, including long-standing work with major theme parks.

The shop is organized, climate-controlled, and structured for professionals who take pride in their work.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer who can independently take a part from print to completion.

This is a hands-on, high-skill position — not a production or operator role.

What You’ll Do

Program, set up, and run CNC lathes (Okuma controls preferred) using G & M code at the machine

Interpret blueprints and GD&T to produce precision components

Determine tooling, holding, and machining strategy independently

Hold tight tolerances (±.0002 typical)

Perform in-process and final inspection using precision measuring tools

Troubleshoot and resolve machining challenges

Contribute to fixture design and process improvements as needed

What We’re Looking For

5–10+ years CNC lathe experience in a job shop or prototype environment

Ability to program at the machine (not dependent on CAM)

Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)

Experience holding tight tolerances and working with a variety of materials

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong attention to detail and personal accountability

Preferred Experience:

Okuma control experience

CAM familiarity (CamWorks or similar)

Work Environment

4-day work week (Monday–Thursday) 7:30 A< to 6:00 PM

Clean, climate-controlled shop

Low-volume, high-precision work — quality over quantity

Team-oriented environment with experienced machinists

Organized workflow — not a chaotic production floor

Compensation

$32–$38/hr based on experience and capability

Top-of-range reserved for machinists who can independently program, set up, and complete complex parts

Overtime available when needed (not excessive)

Requirements

Ability to lift 30–40 lbs as needed

Stand for extended periods

Pre-employment drug screening required

Who This Role Is For

This position is best suited for a machinist who:

Takes pride in precision work and craftsmanship

Prefers challenging, short-run parts over repetitive production

Values a structured, professional, low-stress environment

Wants to be trusted to do their job without micromanagement

Before You Apply

This role is intended for experienced machinists/programmers only.

You should be comfortable working independently from print to finished part.

Apply If…

You are a self-sufficient CNC lathe machinist/programmer seeking a stable, professional environment where your skills are respected and your time outside of work is protected.
